By combining these two necessities, our Behavioral Health Technician Apprenticeship programs in North Dakota and Arizona have industry-led career and education pathways that prepares you to enter and advance in your career. You’ll obtain work experience, classroom instruction, and credentials—all while getting paid.
To bring this program to life, we partner with health care providers that specialize in mental health and substance use treatment. Together, we are committed to removing barriers to address the service shortage in the behavioral health field. By participating in this program, you’ll receive top-tier online education from 91²Ö¿â faculty, combined with in-person, on-the-job training from industry experts.

This program is in partnership with either or the (ND DOCR) for individuals who live in North Dakota.
Application Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma/equivalent.
- Candidates will be required to successfully interview with one of our partner organizations and receive an offer notification before being accepted into the apprenticeship program.
- To become employed by by either organization, candidates must be able to pass a background check and must be able to pass a TB test.

To be eligible for the program, you must apply to both UJ and with the industry partner. Follow these steps:

Applying to UJ is free and should take about 15 minutes. Simply fill out an online application and submit your high school transcripts/GED certificate. - Apply for the Technician Apprenticeship position
- To become employed at a partner agency, students must reside in the area where the employment site is listed and complete all requirements of site employment, including any background checks they require.

- Candidates will be required to successfully interview with Terros Health and receive an offer notification from Terros Health before being accepted into the apprenticeship program.
- To become employed by Terros Health, candidates must be able to pass a background check to receive a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and must be able to pass a TB test.

Here’s how our Behavioral Health Technician Apprenticeship Program works.
- This program is a 1-year apprenticeship, made up of 8-week courses plus on-the-job training.
- Six badges and certificates are awarded throughout the year, as stages of education are completed.
- Your apprenticeship program credits count towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Health, making this program a great pathway to complete the education requirements needed for career advancement.
- Because the apprenticeship connects students to employment, you can continue your employement after the apprenticeship to enhance your knowledge and experience as you grow your career.
