- Professor of Biology
Medical Laboratory Science is ideal for students who are interested in the medical field, but don’t want to invest in as much schooling as a doctor.
Our program focuses on creating flexible learners. That means we provide a broad background in science, complemented by the coursework and laboratory experience necessary to succeed in your clinical studies. Following graduation, you’ll be prepared to work in clinic labs and hospitals, collecting and analyzing blood and other material to produce test results.
Students who major in Medical Laboratory Science attend 91²Ö¿â to complete academic requirements and then transfer to an affiliated institution to obtain hands-on professional training. We offer two options for MLS students:
To help make the transition to another institution seamless, we have a dedicated contact person at University of North Dakota who follows your progress and acts an intermediary.
All required courses are listed in the academic catalog. To view specific course requirements:
To promote active learning, almost every course has a lab component. You’ll practice in experimental design, hypothesis testing, and learn how to work collaboratively. These labs are taught by UJ professors—never grad students—so you can get personal attention from your instructor.
More experience = a better career! Our community support helps you gain professional development opportunities. That means you’ll be able to work in local clinics, while also earning credit towards your degree.
